Guestrow

The Barlach town of Guestrow exudes the charm of a ducal residency, a cathedral town and a town of ordinary townspeople. It has been called the “Paradise of the North” and “Little Paris”. Be that as it may, it is one of the most beautiful towns in Mecklenburg.
Guestrow is set in a charming natural landscape of rivers and small lakes and the interplay between culture and nature is apparent in a variety of ways. Guestrow Castle, one of the most imposing Renaissance castles in North Germany, forms a characteristic and appealing element in the town’s silhouette. The Ernst Barlach museums and the impressive architectural ensembles of buildings from the brick-Gothic age to the neoclassical period are features which attract many visitors. Inspirational!
